Hugo was rescued in October 2021.
In October 2021, there was a large-scale culling operation by the government in Chefchaouen. During that time, a local resident called us and asked if we could take in an older dog before the dog catcher could get to him. We rushed to her, and she showed us where Hugo lived. Hugo came with us immediately, as if he knew this was his only chance to survive.
Hugo is a very lovable and affectionate old bear. He adores people, despite having spent his entire life on the streets. He gets along well with other dogs, but of course, he has to show the younger ones who’s in charge sometimes—you can’t blame him for that. Still, he doesn’t mind submitting when necessary. Hugo is fluffy and has a very endearing face with a dreamy expression. Everyone loves Hugo because he is easy-going and just wonderful!
Hugo was likely born in September 2014, and we hope that he too will get a second chance to experience what it’s like to have a real home and sleep in a warm dog bed.
