Yuri was rescued in 2020 from the streets of Rabat. Leeny found him completely by chance, wandering along a busy road in search of food. What immediately caught her attention was his devastating injury — his leg was severely mutilated, likely from a past car accident. The broken limb hung unnaturally from his body, stiff and twisted, and he was forced to carry it painfully as he walked.

Exhausted, underweight, and suffering from severe mange, Yuri had clearly been surviving alone for far too long. When Leeny stopped and approached him, he responded with gentle trust. Despite everything he had been through, he was friendly, calm, and grateful for help.

After being brought to the refuge, Yuri underwent an amputation and slowly began his long journey of healing. With time, care, and patience, he regained his strength and learned to enjoy life again.

Four years later, Yuri’s story finally found its happy ending — he was adopted into a loving home in the Netherlands. Today, he lives safely with a family who gives him all the love and security he always deserved.

Yuri is a true fighter, proof that even after the unthinkable, life can still begin again.
