Senior Woody was rescued in 2025 after being found lying at the side of the road, unable to walk and dragging himself forward. He was in heartbreaking condition — his body was covered in open sores, and a severe untreated wound had attracted maggots, leaving him in immense pain and extreme distress.
At the clinic, we learned that Woody was paralyzed from the waist down and had likely been living like this for a long time, struggling to survive on his own. The infection in his genital area was already extremely advanced, and to save his life, the veterinarians had no choice but to perform a penis amputation.
Despite everything he had endured, Woody never gave up. With medical care, patience, and love, he slowly recovered and showed us what true resilience looks like.
Not long after his rescue, Woody found the perfect place to continue his journey — a loving association in Spain specialized in caring for disabled dogs. Today, he lives there safely and happily, with his own wheelchair, a cozy bed, and the freedom to enjoy walks and time outdoors.
We all miss Woody deeply. He is a special soul — gentle, calm, and endlessly grateful for every small kindness life gives him.
