Mia was rescued in 2023 after one of our team members found her by chance. She was living on a construction site in the middle of nowhere, struggling to survive on her own.
We believe Mia had been hit by a car when she was a tiny, vulnerable puppy, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. When we found her, she was suffering from a severe bladder infection and painful open wounds caused by dragging her small body along the ground.
After her first gentle bath, it felt as if Mia truly woke up. Beneath the dirt and fear was a cheeky, joyful little girl full of life and spirit.
Mia’s remarkable story touched many hearts and was featured by The Dodo. Not long after her rescue, she found the perfect family — one we could only have dreamed of for her.
Today, Mia lives happily in the Netherlands, where she is deeply loved, spoiled, and known for proudly carrying everyone’s shoes around the house. Her story is a powerful reminder that paralyzed dogs have an incredible will to live and can thrive just as much as any other dog.
