“The loyal guardian”
Rhiley was rescued in October 2025 after being found tied up and abandoned at a garbage site. He was suffering from TVT, a sexually transmitted cancer. Fortunately, this type of cancer is highly treatable with the right care. Rhiley received chemotherapy, recovered well, and today lives a healthy life. Even though he is still young, you can tell that life has left its marks on him. We believe he spent much of his life chained before he was abandoned.
In the beginning, Rhiley was very distrustful and guarded his kennel from us. However, this changed quickly once he realized he was safe. Today, he has built a strong bond with his caregivers. He is a calm and balanced dog who enjoys peaceful moments just as much as he enjoys interaction. Rhiley loves to play and also likes to cuddle with the people he trusts. With his person, he is very submissive, attentive, and eager to learn, showing traits often seen in shepherd-type dogs. He is an incredibly loyal companion who would give everything for his owner.
With strangers, Rhiley remains cautious, but he is not reactive or impulsive. He observes first and takes his time to trust. He is an excellent watchdog and naturally protective without being aggressive. Rhiley gets along very well with other dogs, including males, and even does well with cats.
Rhiley was likely born in January 2023. He is looking for a home with a person or family with older children who understand his nature. A more rural environment would suit him best, ideally with space he can watch over and call his own. A farm or property would be perfect for him, where he can finally live the life he was meant to have.
